MISSION - 5-11 CLUB RIGS - DIRECTORS & OFFICERS
ABOUT THE 5-11 CLUB WEBSITE - CLUB MEMBERSHIP

The 5-11 Club operates two canteens known as "Support Service Units." SSU 1, a 1999 GMC Van, is housed at Engine 106's quarters located at 3401 N. Elston Avenue. SSU 2, a 1981 GMC Van, is housed at Engine 80's quarters located at 12701 S. Doty Avenue.

The Support Service Units responds to all 2-11 alarm fires in the City of Chicago and to Still & Box alarm fires on a case by case basis. In determining whether to respond to a Still & Box alarm fire, we take into consideration a number of factors, including weather conditions, traffic conditions, and the distance we must travel to reach the scene of the incident.

In addition, the 5-11 Club will send a Support Service Unit to special events that are sponsored by, or related to, the operations of the Chicago Fire Department.
The 5-11 Club has developed its own dispatch system for our canteen operations, the two primary components of which are a two-way radio system and an alpha-numeric paging system.

The Support Service Units are staffed by Regular Members of the 5-11 Club, all of whom are volunteers. If you are interested in joining the 5-11 Club as a Regular Member, please visit our membership page.
